San Marcos student housing complex to hose 5k color run to benefit local Boys and Girls Club

The Heights II, a student housing property in San Marcos, is hosting a 5k run to support the local Boys and Girls Club.
“Color for the Cause” is scheduled for Saturday, March 2 at 2:30 p.m. with a goal of raising $25,000 in donations.
The starting line will be set up at The Heights II apartment community, located at 1101 East River Ridge Parkway, and the route will follow River Ridge Parkway and Carlson Circle with a few additional side streets.
There is a registration fee of $25 to run and any additional donations are welcome on the website Color4thecause.com.
Contestants must wear white as they will be plastered with color as they run by various volunteers.
All proceeds from this run will be donated to local chapters of the Boys and Girls Club to help each and every child in the area.
The Boys and Girls club strives to provide a safe, positive place and have a significant impact on children’s lives. The mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
After contestants complete the race there will be activities. The post-race entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. and will include music from William Clark Green, No Dry County, Dillon Myers and residents from The Heights II, Logun Timberlake and Steven Garza.
