Heartfelt fundraiser to benefit school children
The people of San Marcos are invited to join a community fundraiser for schoolchildren in need during the annual “Heart Warming Affair.”
Featured at the event will be shopping from local vendors, a lunch in the Tea Room, a silent auction and a live performance by the award-winning San Marcos High School Orchestra.
All profits will be given to the Family in Need fund of the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District.
The “Heart Warming Affair” will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 129 W. Hutchison San Marcos.
The public is invited to support the fundraising effort.
Vendors will be selling hand-made jewelry, wooden crosses, coasters, scrolled art, apparel, crafts and teas. Products from Thirty One, Tupperware and Scentsy will be available. There will also be chair massages for those who need a little pampering or relaxation after a busy day of shopping.
Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The menu features a three-salad plate, a cup of soup, drink and dessert.
Tickets are available through First UMC for $10 or may be bought at the door. Refreshments of homemade cookies, pies and coffee will be sold throughout the day.
Entertainment will be provided by members of the award winning San Marcos High School Orchestra under the direction of Christopher Hanson. Tours of the newly-renovated historic 1893 First UMC sanctuary will be held at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.
Parking will be available in lots across from the church.
