Frances Chagoya

Surrounded by her family and loved ones, Frances Chagoya passed peacefully and was released from her earthly bonds, and escorted by the angels of our Heavenly Father on Feb. 19, 2013 at the age of 76. Born Sept. 17, 1936 in Maxwell, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.
Frances is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years Gabriel Chagoya, parents Victoriano and Eloisa Moreno, brothers Remijio, Pedro, Victor Jr. and Gregorio Moreno and sisters Andrea Velasquez and Sally Vasquez.
Upon marrying Gabriel, she moved to Gary, Indiana where she worked for Land-O-Frost meat packing company, where she retired after 25 years. After moving back to Kyle, she enjoyed her retirement by cooking, baking, making holidays very special and making the house a home for her family with love, joy and peace.
Surviving family are sons Rudy Chagoya and wife Patricia of Austin, Anthony Chagoya and wife Diane of Kyle, Michael Chagoya and wife Patricia of Chicago, Ill., daughters Debbie Sendejas and husband David of Chicago, Ill., Christina Gutierrez and husband Michael of Kyle, grandchildren Rudy Jr. and John Anthony Chagoya, David Jr. and Erica Sendejas, Susan Rodriguez and great-grandchildren Dahlia, Aliah and Nevaeh Chagoya, Gabriel and Mia Sendejas and Andrew and Dominic Gutierrez, with numerous nieces and nephews.
Even though her stay was short, her life had many chapters. Her presence, like the wind, will always be felt and her mark in life will be carried on through her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren whom she cherished so much.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 7:30 p.m. at Los Angeles Funeral Home. Recitation of Rosary will be tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Los Angeles Funeral Chapel. Saturday visitation will beg from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Los Angeles Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Victor Mayorga will officiate. Interment will follow in San Marcos City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Anthony and Rudy Chagoya, Michael Gutierrez, David Sendejas Jr., Phillip Marmolejo and Casey Vela.
The Chagoya family would like to give a special thank you to Diane Chagoya for her care and warmth and for being by mother's side.
