College Football: Texas State RBs looking stronger

Photo caption: Texas State redshirt sophomore running back Chris Nutall looks for running room during last Saturdays scrimmage. Nutall broke several long runs for the Bobcats.

What can a team do to replace a running back who accounted for 32 percent of its rushing yards and 42 percent of its rushing touchdowns the previous season? Texas State and head coach Dennis Franchione hope a sheer number of possible replacements do the trick.

When Marcus Curry exhausted his eligibility last fall, it left the Bobcats in a bind. Curry did so much for Texas State ever since Franchione and his staff took over and now the team must find another capable workhorse in his mold.

By the time fall camp starts in August, the Bobcats should have a plethora of running backs from which to pick to rebuild its rushing attack around.
