Suspects sought in early morning stabbing

Friday, October 26, 2018

San Marcos Police are searching for suspects in a stabbing that occurred downtown just after closing time for the bars and restaurants in the area.

The victim suffered a laceration to his right forearm and a puncture stab wound to his lower right abdomen. Friends transported him to Central Texas Medical Center. From there he was sent to Seton South Austin for emergency surgery.

According to witnesses, three men waited for the victim and his two friends outside Nephew’s bar and started an altercation with them at approximately 2:29 a.m. The victim and his friends disengaged from the suspects and walked to the victim’s vehicle, which was parked at the 100 block of W. San Antonio Street.

As the victim was unlocking his car, a gray, 2014 or newer, 4-door Hyundai passenger car with moon roof and spoiler drove up to him, and one of the suspects left the car and stabbed the victim.

The suspect then re-entered his car, and the vehicle drove westbound on San Antonio Street.

The suspects are described as:

  • Suspect #1 (who stabbed the victim) – Hispanic male, approx. 5’3” - 5’5” tall with average build and a small belly, light stubble facial hair, dark brown medium length hair, age in the 20’s, wearing cream colored t-shirt, and cream colored baseball cap.
  • Suspect #2 – Hispanic male, approx. 5’2”-5’4” tall, stocky build, “buzz cut” hair, goatee facial hair, age in the 20’s, wearing maroon t-shirt with graphic design on front, gray pants or jean shorts, and black shoes.
  • Suspect #3 – White male, approx. 5’8”-5’9” tall, fit/athletic build, moustache, age in the 20’s, red or light brown receding hair, wearing red t-shirt with white letters, and red fitted cap.
