A cold wind often brings chills during spooky season but for the Aquarena Wind Ensemble wind is what brings their instruments to life. The ensemble will be performing The Nightmare Before Halloween on Thursday, Halloween Eve, Oct.30 at 6 p.m. The biennial event will be hosted by the Price Center & Garden located at 325 W. San Antonio Street.

Scary musical selections will haunt the audience, while seating amongst creatures, creations, and costumes. Participants are encouraged dress in the attire of the season. Some ensemble members will be a frightening site, as they perform instrumental madness of frightening familiar Halloween music.

Costume contestants will require an entry fee ($5-adults / $3-children). Prizes will be awarded in various categories for both children and adults. The audience will also serve as judges for a separate contest for members of the band. Treats will be available for the young, and Witches Brew and Finger Snacks for the old.

The Aquarena Wind Ensemble is a community band, created five years ago by founder and Artistic Director, Michael L. Thielen. Previously known as the Aquarena Springs Symphonic Band.
