Dionicia Gonzales, passed peacefully with her family by her side and was released from her earthly bonds into the Heavens on June 29, 2014 at the golden age of 101. Born Oct. 9, 1912 in Manor, she was a beloved sister, aunt and friend. Dionicia is preceded in death by her loving husband Brigido Gonzales; parents Francisco and Fortunata Garza; sisters Natividad Rubio and Nicolasa Rodriguez; and brother Estaban Garza.
Dionicia was very passionate with her cooking in the kitchen. The aroma would fill the home to make us feel loved and a place to gather. Dionicia loved her Lord. She would attend services at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. When she wanted to relax, Dionicia liked being in the garden, where her plants and flowers would bloom. Nothing meant more to her than her family, especially the nieces and nephews. We thank the Lord for giving her to us for as long as we had her...... "we love you!” Your spirit lives with us and you will be missed dearly.
Surviving family are her sister Dominga Negrete of San Marcos, beloved niece and caregiver Dora Wanjura of San Marcos and with numerous nieces and nephews.
