New exhibit on display at Art Center

Spencer Schwarz and Julie Albertson of the Texas Pie Company in Kyle go all out to celebrate the biggest pie holiday of the year: Pi Day, March 14, also 3.14. Albertson started out in the pie business with the Wimberley Pie Company at the age of 24 before relocating to Kyle and becoming the Texas Pie Company. “My husband and I have a lot of fun,” Albertson said. The husband and wife team have been selling pies in Kyle since 1989. The Texas Pie Company is located at 202 W. Center Street in Kyle. It is also a full-service restaurant serving daily lunch specials, casseroles, sandwiches, salads and other desserts.

Bo Michael Dresner

Judge sentences child abuser to 410 years in prison

Bo Michael Dresner, a former precinct chair and sergeant-at-arms with the Hays County Republican Party, was sentenced on 65 counts of continuous sexual abuse of multiple children and possession of child pornography with intent to promote. Judge Gary Steel of the 274th District Court sentenced Dresner to four consecutive, or stacked, sentences of 75 years each on four counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child, and then added stacked sentences ranging from 10 to 20 years on the remaining 61 counts of possession of child pornography with intent to promote. The stacked sentences amount to 410 years in prison.
