Hays County Food Bank awards Certificate of Appreciation to SMUUF
Members of the San Marcos Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (SMUUF) were recently awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Hays County Food Bank. Church members tend a garden plot at Alamo Community Gardens for the Food Bank and donate all the fresh produce to help provide Food Bank clients with fresh fruits and vegetables. SMUUF member CJ Wright designed and constructed a tool shed at the site and several SMUUF members participate in workdays at the gardens. The church also collects nonperishable food supplies for the Food Bank and recently donated almost 100 pounds of canned and boxed foods. In addition, the yoga class that meets at the church wanted to donate to the Food Bank and collected $220.
