Wimberley Players open a 'selfie' of the human journey

By Teresa Kendrick
Special to the Record

When the Wimberley Players perform “The Skin of our Teeth,” June 13 – July 6, audiences can expect a masterwork of American theater. An allegorical comedy in three rapid acts, it is a “selfie” portrait of mankind’s journey through the ages—our achievements, challenges, foibles and, most importantly, our inexorable endurance.
Full of clever devices, symbolism and metaphor, it’s an original fable with profound messages at its core. It has been continuously revived in the U.S. and Europe since it was written in 1942.  Its message that “things will be okay” makes it as popular and relevant today as it ever was.
