Cattle Baron’s Ball to fight cancer next month
From Staff Reports
The American Cancer Society 2014 Hays County Cattle Baron’s Ball Committee is proud to announce that country recording artist Bart Crow will be this year’s headlining artist for the 2014 Cattle Baron’s Ball. The fight against cancer is one that is near to the heart of Bart Crow, who has recently written and recorded a song in tribute to a family friend battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
The 2014 Hays County Cattle Baron’s Ball will take place September 20, 2014 at the Pecan Grove at the Salt Lick. This year’s fundraiser will feature a “Hill County Chic” theme. The evening will include live music, dancing, plenty of Texas barbecue, live and silent auctions, and much more. As always, all proceeds from the Hays County Cattle Baron’s Ball will support the American Cancer Society and their efforts in the research and treatment of the disease. High-level underwriting contributors to this year’s Cattle Baron’s Ball include H-E-B, McCoy’s Building Supply, Texas State University, and San Marcos Women’s Health.
This year’s honorary chairman of the ball is San
Marcos Mayor Daniel Guerrero. Mayor Guerrero recently participated in a local fundraiser for five-year old cancer patient Waylon Malone by being the first of 65 San Marcos city employees to have their heads shaved in honor of Waylon. The city of San Marcos raised $11,000 in that event.
