College Football: With goals in mind, Texas State visits Idaho in search of back-to-back wins

MOSCOW, Idaho — Even as late as three weeks ago, it was feasible to think Texas State would be seeking its sixth win when the team made its biennial trek to Idaho in late November.

In fact, that was the prevailing thought when the Bobcats sat at 2-5 on Nov. 6 and had New Mexico State, Georgia State, Louisiana-Monroe and the aforementioned Vandals on their upcoming slate.

College Equestrian: SMA's Potts signs National Letter of Intent to Texas A&M

Allee Potts, a senior at San Marcos Academy, signed her National Letter of Intent on Nov. 12 to compete with the Texas A&M Equestrian team, which is a NCAA Division I sport. This gives her a position on the horsemanship squad and a partial scholarship.

Potts, the daughter of Stephanee and Zach Potts of San Marcos, has been riding since she was six years old. She began learning with her aunt Ashley Roberts, and gained a solid foundation for riding.

Last week, the University Interscholastic League released its official cutoff for the upcoming 2016 reclassifications and district realignments in January.

The cutoff numbers refer to the minimum number of enrolled students that qualify a school for a specific classification (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A)

The cutoff numbers for 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 are as follows:

6A: 2,150 and above

5A: 1,100 to 2,149

4A: 480 to 1,099
