We've come a long way as a running community
I was talking with some of the runners that have been around since the “old” days when running was just getting to be a fad.
Dr. Cooper’s book “Aerobics” provided much of this interest from his years of research on the benefits of running. He also listed various training programs for people to get started from beginner to advanced runners. We talked about some of the first races here in San Marcos and how the price for entry has changed and the administration of the race was organized.
Early registration for the run was about $6 and late registration, or day of race cost, was all the way up to $8. Results for the award winners were usually with the card and bucket system. This was very simple and it worked well for what we had.
