San Marcos Police investigate stabbing death

San Marcos Police are investigating the stabbing death of a 20-year old Austin man that occurred in the 700 block of Allen Street in San Marcos around 1 a.m. Sunday.

Arthur Martinez of Austin died after being transported to Central Texas Medical Center with stab wounds. Police are investigating the case as a homicide.

According to police, Martinez and friends were at a party on Allen Street when he was stabbed. The Travis County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department's non-emergency number at 753-2108 or Hays County Crime Stoppers at 353-TIPS.
