Rattlers try to keep rolling at Wagner
Nothing can be taken for granted in District 25-5A.
That’s the advice San Marcos head baseball coach Bryan Webb has been conveying to his team as the Rattlers prepare for tonight’s 7 p.m. game at last-place San Antonio-Wagner.
San Marcos is riding high after Tuesday night’s 5-3 win over Converse-Judson, allowing SMHS to move into a tie for second place with the Rockets. However, if the Rattlers want to remain tied for second, they’ll likely need to win their final two district games, beginning tonight. San Marcos closes out district play
Tuesday at home against New Braunfels-Canton, while Judson plays at Canyon tonight and hosts New Braunfels Tuesday.
“This is one of the most competitive districts in the state from top to bottom and just because a team like Wagner is struggling, we can’t afford to look past them,” Webb said. “The kids understand we take care of business the next two games and that begins tonight.”
