College Football: Bobcats choose sides
When the Gold team selected soon-to-be senior defensive lineman Blake McColloch with the first overall pick of the Maroon and Gold Spring Game Draft, there were 87 players left on the big board. So it’s safe to say the Maroon team had an embarrassment of riches from which to choose the second pick.
That’s when Charlie Will Tuttle, a soon-to-be junior offensive lineman from Wimberley, stood up and nabbed redshirt sophomore running back Chris Nutall. It left a lot of people, including Texas State head coach Dennis Franchione, scratching their heads since every quarterback, running back and wide receiver had been available.
