Bobcats, Seton team up
A large crowd was on hand Tuesday morning at the Bobcat Stadium end-zone complex to celebrate Seton Healthcare Family being named as Texas State Athletics’ official health-care sponsor.
A short presentation was made as Seton’s logo on the facility’s ribbon boards lit up the stadium even with the hot, Texas sun shining brightly.
Texas State Athletic Director Larry Teis and President Denise Trauth spoke on behalf of the school, while Chris Hartle, president of Seton’s South Group of hospitals, and Gerald Hill, executive director of the Seton Hays Foundation, spoke on behalf of the hospital.
Also on hand were members of the Bobcat Band, the Bobcat cheerleaders and Strutters, performing for those in attendance.
Hill moved the crowd when he explained about how he and he wife, Donna, attended and met at Southwest Texas, got married and lived in San Marcos.
“My school and my hospital have joined hands and I could not be happier,” Hill said.
The agreement between the two entities extends beyond markets, according to Teis.
“With the new hospital close to campus, this gives us a great opportunity to develop not only a marketing relationship but to partner with them in terms of creating educational opportunities for our student-athletes and staff,” Teis said. “The past few years, the Seton family of doctors has assisted our athletics and department, and we look forward to expanding on this in the future.”
