Asencion Morales Olvera
Asencion Morales Olvera passed peacefully with her sister and niece by her side. She was released from her earthly bonds, and escorted by the angels of our Heavenly Father on June 18, 2013 at the golden age of 95. Born March 25, 1918 in Kyle, she was a beloved sister, aunt and friend.
Asencion is preceded in death by her parents Santiago and Francisca Olvera; brothers Andres, Jesus, Santiago Jr., Natividad Sr., Elias Sr. and Jose Olvera; sisters Juanita Vela, Carlota Garza, Maria Arredondo, Angelita Olvera, Lupe Olvera and Josefina Gonzales. Asencion loved her Lord. She was a parishioner of Saint Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church in Kyle and a devout member of the Guadalupana Society for many years. Those close to her will remember that she committed her life to daily prayer and meditation to Jesus Christ, our Savior. Asencion was one of 14 brothers and sisters in our community, with only the youngest baby sister remaining. We thank you Oh Lord for giving her to us for as long as we had her...... "we love you!”
Surviving family are sister Magdalena O. Reyes and husband Bernardino Sr. of San Marcos and sister-in-law Victoria Olvera of Kyle, with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Kyle. Rosary will be recited this evening at 7 p.m. at the church. A second visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Rev. Father Matthew Kiney will officiate, and interment will follow in San Juan Cemetery, Reedville.
Serving as pallbearers are Nativida Jr., Elias Jr. and Paul Olvera, Evaristo Reyes, Joe Sepulveda Jr. and Matthew Garza.
