‘Alive at 25’ classes

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office will host two “Alive at 25” classes Feb. 9. 
It is instructed by members of the Texas Alive Team. Classes are held at the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, 1307 Uhland Road, Room B.
The “Texas Alive” team is a non-profit multi-agency team of law enforcement and safety professionals dedicated to saving lives. The goal is to empower young drivers to adopt safer driving habits and reduce injury and death.
It is a four-hour course that complements standard driver education programs — and is also for young drivers with traffic violations. 
The National Safety Council reports that students who complete “Alive at 25” are 75 percent less likely to be killed in a car crash than youths that have not taken the course. 
The cost is $25 or, if court-ordered, $50.
