I was talking with a group about planning a race for raising some funds for their organization.
I went into some of the details of putting on a race and mentioned that for a small group of members that are willing to take on the job of planning a successful race, it is more work than showing up the morning of the race and thinking that that was all there was to it.
The main committee is looking at several months of working out the small details that most people seem to take as a given part of the race. Little things such as the type and color of race shirt, what is the name of the race, the catchy logo that goes on the shirt and the race’s distance. These are small things that are part of the race but something that needs to be determined for the race to take place.
