Caraway does a great job

Neighbors,
I believe most of us cringe when we must deal with Government Officials at any level; especially where it concerns tax matters.
In my case I’ve found the Hays County Tax Assessor’s office is one in which citizens of Hays County are treated with respect and dignity. We owe this to the leadership of Luanne Caraway, Hays County Tax Assessor-Collector.

Gonzalez is best At Large choice

Editor:
The number of candidates (seven) who have filed for the two at-large school board positions open in the May election indicates a renewed interest, if not concern, about what is going on in SMCISD. This is encouraging.  SMCISD needs an infusion of fresh ideas and critical thinking on the School Board.

Disappointed in council non-action

Editor,
I was disappointed to say the least that the discussion of the Greater San Marcos Partnership contract was quelled by Councilman Scott and the Mayor last evening. As a small business owner, I have little to no time to participate in the business of our city. I was hoping to get more information on this topic but instead I got a lesson in Robert’s Rules of Order. I hope next time the Council has an opportunity to share information with the public, they seize it.
