Remember: As your exercise adapts, so does your body
There are several ways to tell if you are getting the most out of your workout in your efforts to become more fit.
Two of the most common ways include the perceived exertion technique and the other is the pulse rate.
The perceived exertion technique is considered to be better than the pulse rate for evaluating the effort of a workout.
A person uses a scale of from 1 to 20 for the exertion effort, with 20 being a very hard and exhausting effort. A walk at a stroll pace would be down around a 5 or 6 in effort.
It takes a little practice to learn to judge your effort but after a few tries things seem to fall into place.
