New Braunfels Theater Company presents PG-13 musical
Can you spell "W-I-E-N-E-R-S-C-H-N-I-T-Z-E-L?”
New Braunfels Theatre Company presents the charming and hilarious Tony Award-winning musical comedy “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” beginning Friday, March 22 at The Brauntex Theater, 290 W. San Antonio St. in New Braunfels.
This PG-13 musical comedy features an all-adult cast and weaves an amusing tale of overachievers' pubescent angst. Six adolescent outsiders compete for the spelling championship of a lifetime, overseen by grown-ups who barely escaped childhood themselves. Come and celebrate the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky, yet charming cast of offbeat characters for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time. “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is a roller coaster of music and F-U-N.
“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” features an exceptionally talented cast including Robert Bergeron, Olivia Corbello, Kelly Crawford, Randy Foerster, Beau Gregersen, Diane Irwin, Aly Jones, Tracey Nefford and Ryley Wilson. Gigi Gregersen serves as director. Audience volunteers will be interviewed before the show, and two will be selected to appear onstage during each performance, alongside special guest spellers from the community.
Performances are March 22 and 23 at 8 p.m., March 24 at 2:30 p.m. and March 28 - 30, all at 8 p.m.
