HS Track: HCCS athletes fare well at recent meet
SAN ANTONIO — Last Friday, Hill Country Christian School competed in the San Antonio Christian Invitational. The meet was held at San Antonio Christian School.
Nine athletes traveled to the meet, but two freshmen stole the show.
Freshman Taylor West competed in four events (400-meter dash, 4 x 100-meter relay, high jump and long jump).
In the 400, West had a season best of 69.51 seconds. She placed first in her heat, and sixth out of 27 athletes. West posted a season best in long jump with a distance of 10.25 feet.
Freshman Kyle Robbins competed in five events (100, 200, 4 x 100-meter relay, long jump and shot put).
In the 200, Robbins ran with a time of 25.46 seconds a fantastic time for his first time competing in the event. Robbins placed ninth out of 35 athletes in the shot put with a distance of 38 feet.
