HS Baseball: Snakes get shut out at Judson

San Marcos third baseman Cruz Rodriguez makes a throw during the Rattlers’ 3-0 loss at Judson Tuesday.

CONVERSE — Perhaps the San Marcos Rattlers’ inability to score runs on the road early in District 25-5A play is simply a passing phase.

That’s certainly what SMHS head baseball coach Bryan Webb is hoping after watching his Rattlers suffer their second straight shutout loss away from Rattler Field, falling 3-0 Tuesday night at Converse-Judson.

San Marcos (15-8, 1-2 25-5A) collected only four hits and stranded six runners, failing to take advantage of another solid outing from senior pitcher Colin Gonzales, who held the Rockets to three runs on four hits with three strikeouts and three walks.
