Gay primed for big ’13
It’s not rare for an athlete to walk to practice. After all, universities are beginning to build dorms solely for athletes for that purpose — and that would be a five-minute walk, tops.
Then there is what Texas State sophomore running back Tim Gay did just about every morning practice during fall camp. Gay walked 35-40 minutes from his downtown apartment, to the End Zone Complex at Bobcat Stadium.
“I don’t even listen to music,” Gay said. “I just walk and think about what I have to do at practice. It’s kind of a calm period for me until we put the pads on and get ready.”
