College Softball: Night games rained out at WAC tourney
RUSTON, La. — Texas State lived to fight another day in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament — and Mother Nature had something to do with it.
Inclement weather forced Thursday’s second session of the WAC Tournament to be postponed until Friday morning, which pushed back other games as well.
Earlier on Thursday, third-seeded Louisiana Tech fell to second-seeded New Mexico State, which put the Bobcats in an elimination game with the Lady Techsters. Texas State won two of its three games against LA Tech this season.
Before the weather hit, UT Arlington and UTSA were in the seventh inning of their potential elimination game. The Mavericks owned a 2-0 lead over the Roadrunners.
On Wednesday, the Bobcats fell to the losers’ bracket after a 6-0 loss to UTSA.
Play resumed this morning at 10 a.m., with Texas State and LA Tech to follow soon after the conclusion of the game.
