College Baseball: Bobcats beginning to click
Junior relief pitcher Hunter Lemke made a habit of saving Texas State in 2013.
Whenever the Bobcats get in a tough spot late in a game, head coach Ty Harrington isn’t afraid to use Lemke. Such was the case last Saturday when Texas State saw its three-run lead in the eighth inning begin to evaporate against rival Texas-San Antonio.
Once the Roadrunners teed off on junior setup man Donnie Hart, who has gone through quite a tough stretch recently, Harrington switched pitchers. Even though it wasn’t a save situation for Lemke, who is second on the single-season chart with eight saves (one behind former closer Jeff McVaney’s nine), Harrington couldn’t take a chance.
