Eusebio V. Gomez Jr., a resident of San Marcos, was released from his earthly bonds and escorted by the angels to be with our Father in Heaven on Feb. 18, 2013 at the age of 49.
Born May 25, 1963 in Lockhart, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He is preceded in death by his father Eusebio Gomez Sr.
Our father was a caring and loving man. Respect and family meant everything to him. Anyone who knew him knew he was the hardest worker. He loved his Oakland Raiders and never missed a game. He enjoyed barbecues, going to the river and spending time with family. Eusebio will be truly missed but not forgotten in our hearts.
Survivors are wife of 10 years Jessica Gomez of Austin, daughters Angelica Gomez Escobar and husband JC, Elizabeth Castillo and husband Freddy and Marissa Gomez, all of San Marcos; sons Matthew, James, Giovanni Gomez, Daniel, Chris and Teddy Lopez, all of San Marcos; mother Esther Samaniego of New Braunfels, step father Robert Samaniego of New Braunfels, brothers Fabian Gomez and Donna of San Marcos, Edward Gomez and Sandra of Kyle, Danny Gomez and Mari of San Antonio, Chris Ybarra and Jeanne of Wimberley, Jeff Ybarra and Peggy of San Marcos and Eugene Ybarra and Mary of San Marcos; sisters Esther Ortiz and Joe of San Marcos, Eva Perez and David of San Marcos, Lisa Gomez and Ruben of San Marcos and Yolanda Luna and Ricardo of San Antonio; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Los Angeles Funeral Home. Prayer service will be conducted Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Los Angeles Funeral Chapel.
Visitation will begin Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at Sinai Pentecostal Church on Laredo Street. Services begin at 10 a.m. at the Sinai Church. Rev. Samuel Montoya will officiate. Interment will follow in San Juan Cemetery in Reedville.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Ybarra, Jonathan Trevino, Chris Martinez, Michael Perez, Joseph Gomez and Christopher Montero
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Travis Trevino and Daniel Lopez
