The San Marcos Manufacturing Association held its first GearUp 10-Mile Run at Tanger Outlet Mall, with more than 50 runners. Proceeds are used to support scholarships for local students attending college. Sponsors were Central Texas Medical Center (organizational sponsor), Mensor Corp., Seton Medical Center Hays, UTC Aerospace Systems, TXI, Altra Couplings, CenturyLink, Ingram Family Foundation, Live Oak Health Partners, BlueScope, CFAN, Frost Bank, Gary Job Corps, Nexus, Sac-N-Pac, Sam’s Club, Thermon Manufacturing, McCoy’s College of Business Administration and Gulf Business Forms. Contributors of gifts and prizes were Academy, Austin Canoe and Kayak, Chick-fil-A, Chili’s, Coleman-New Braunfels, Conley Car Wash & Express Lub, Fuschak’s Pit Bar-B-Q, Grin’s Restaurant, Mamacitas’s Restaurant & Cantina, Palmer’s Restaurant, Quail Creek Country Club, Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union, SAS Shoes, Free Birds, Redbird Skyport and Texas Health & Racquet Club. Volunteers came from Anytime Fitness, CTMC, Gary Job Corps, Core Runners Club, San Marcos Runners Club (David Alexander, race coordinator), Hays County Sheriff’s Office, Moe Johnson, Tanger Outlet Mall and CTMC.
