Virginia Mae Large Davis
Virginia Mae Large Davis, 83, of San Marcos, passed away on Wednesday, April 17. She was born near Vernon, Ind., on Oct. 13, 1929 to Jacob and Dora M. (Litle) Large.
Virginia attended Paris Crossing High School (IN) and received an Associate of Arts Degree from San Antonio College. She was retired from a long career in the moving and storage industry in San Antonio as both office manager and partner.
She was preceded in death by her brother Vernon Large; sister Beverly Large; daughter Nancy Halls; daughter Susan (Halls) Blair; husband Francis J. Halls and husband Winston C. Davis.
Virginia is survived by her loving husband of six years John Swope; son Robert J. Halls and his wife Rachel of Round Rock; granddaughter Melissa Rettig and her husband James of San Marcos; granddaughter P.J. Griggs and her husband Paul of Canyon Lake; grandson William Truax Jr.; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great- granddaughter; brother Harold Large and his wife Judy of Boise, ID.
The family is grateful to all the family, friends and LDS Church members whose friendship and support meant so much to her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made in her name to the LDS Humanitarian Aid Fund, 15 E. South Temple, 2nd Floor East, Salt Lake City, UT.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 11 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 120 Suncrest Street, San Marcos.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. in the Relief Society Room.
Interment will follow at the San Marcos City Cemetery.
