Slaughter and lack of respect for life must end
Editor,
In response to the letter from Peter Stern in the SMDR, 1-27-13... what hypocrisy!
He states it’s wrong when Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, Governor Rick Perry or any Republican speaks out on the abortion issue in support of pro-life.
His line about government, on any level, should not interfere in the daily lives of American citizens is just plain laughable.
What about the current health care debate where the Obama Administration is demanding all Americans buy health insurance or be fined?
The list of new rules and regulations that affect our lives put forth by this administration goes on and on. If that’s not government interference on American citizens, then I must have misunderstood what that word meant for 74 years.
Mr. Stern and those in favor of “baby killing” have no problem when President Obama and scores of other Democrats make their case for pro-choice. In the 40 years of legal abortion in this country almost 55 million babies have been slaughtered. When we as a society disrespect life so much, how long will it be until senior citizens, disabled or the handicapped will have to wonder if they are going to end up in the “pro-choice” category?
I wonder if Mr. Stern, or any of these other liberals, would feel different if their parents, grandparents or loved ones end up on this “not valued as a life” list.
Thank God for people like Abbott, Gov. Perry and other leaders that understand the value of life and the need to protect it.
Jesus makes it very clear throughout the New Testament how he feels about children and the need to protect and care for them.
I hope and pray that more current leaders and congregations would not sit back and do nothing to save these innocent lives.
As for me, this slaughter and lack of respect for life must end. Thank you for your time and space.
