Powerlifting: Frasquillo shines again at nationals
ORLANDO, Fla. — Rest is for the weary, so it’s a good thing San Marcos resident Shawn Frasquillo likes to lift weights.
For Frasquillo to earn a return trip to the International Powerlifting Federation Classic World Championships, he’d need to battle his way through a tight window. From the time Frasquillo returned from the 2013 IPF meet, the San Marcos resident only had a few weeks to prepare for USAPL Raw Nationals.
Frasquillo pushed through whatever fatigue his body felt and finished first in the 66-kilogram (145-pound) division. That earned Frasquillo, who trains at San Marcos Athletic Club under the direction of Bobby Warren, a return trip to the world meet.
