Helen Diane ‘Dee’ Hart

Helen Diane ‘Dee’ Hart

Helen Diane "Dee" Hart of San Marcos, Texas, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on June 18, 2013, in Austin, Texas, at the age of 54. She was the beloved wife of Ron Hart.
Dee was born on Sept. 22, 1958, in Modesto, Calif., and was the oldest of three children born to Helen Grace and the late Tom Grace. After living in Oregon and Washington State, Dee and her family settled in Richardson, where she attended Richardson High School, Class of 1976. Once she completed high school, she graduated from Texas State University, formerly known as Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. In 1978, she met the man of her dreams, Ron Hart, and they were married on Aug. 22, 1981, in Wimberley. They immediately set up their home in San Marcos. Dee worked for the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce and did an amazing job as an administrative assistant, followed by three years as the director of public relations for Central Texas Medical Center.
Dee became a full time homemaker after the birth of her first born Brandon in 1988, and then welcomed Chelsea in 1991 and Collin in 1993. She loved being involved in the lives of her three children and loving husband. She volunteered at the First Christian Church in their after school program as well as in the classrooms of her children. She enjoyed attending their many sporting events whether it was little league baseball, football, volleyball, soccer, or basketball, Dee lovingly served and honored her family in all aspects of their lives.
Life became more challenging for Dee in 2005, when she was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia.
This diagnosis has been difficult for her and the family, but they find comfort in knowing that this has helped to make them who they are today — loving, kind and compassionate. There were many challenges for Dee and the family in recent years, but they all had a role in loving and supporting her through it all.
Dee is survived by her husband of 32 years, Ron, children Brandon, 25, Chelsea, 22, and Collin, 19, all of San Marcos; mother Helen Grace and sister Karen Grace of Mesquite; and brother Tom and wife Lori Grace of Sunnyvale. She is also survived by six nieces and six nephews. Funeral Services will be held at First Christian Church of San Marcos, Friday, June 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Dr. Jimmy Cobb officiating. Burial to follow in the San Marcos City Cemetery.
