Hays SWAT responds to Sunday call

The Hays County SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiations Team were called out Sunday to a residence in Dripping Springs following a 911 call.
According to the Hays County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were sent to a residence in the 1100 block of Roy’s Creek Trail after a resident arrived home to find some items missing in their home and several doors in the home barricaded. The resident also told deputies they had seen “a male subject standing in an upstairs window.”
Upon arrival, deputies attempted to make contact with the male subject but were unsuccessful. SWAT arrived and after more unsuccessful attempts to establish contact, made entry into the residence and “found it unoccupied.”
It’s believed the subject escaped prior to deputies arrival and while no arrests have been made, an investigation is ongoing.
During the incident the Hays County Sheriff’s Office informed nearby citizens of the situation using the emergency notification system. Also on scene were the Austin Police Department SWAT Team (Tactical vehicle) and the Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter.
