The final stretch: Texas State student’s ‘mission to remission’
When Alexandrea Rodriguez first saw all of the people knitting in the lobby of the Music building at Texas State University, she thought they were lame.
But when she was bed-ridden from chemotherapy, she realized how relaxing the hobby could be.
“After I went bald, I asked one of my friends to make me a beanie and it was so cute,” Rodriguez said. “I decided I should start making my own beanies. My stuff was really crappy in the beginning, but after I started using the loom, I got better.”
